About the winery
The area where the Montedolce Vini company, owned by Salvatore Grasso, is located is Solicchiata, a hamlet of Castiglione di Sicilia, in the Montedolce district. It is located near an extinct volcano at around 850 m above sea level, from which it takes its name, and is adjacent to the ETNA park. The local economy is based primarily on the production of high-quality DOC wines, with ETNA ROSSO representing the main territory. The vineyard is made up of century-old Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapevines. The work is primarily carried out by me and my family, starting with winter pruning and ending with the harvest, as well as the winemaking and aging phases.
