About the winery
The Cantine Primaterra was founded in 2003 with a wine production project that was the expression of this territory where the volcano, over the centuries, has left an indelible mark. In 2009 the first harvest, with label Primaterra, of Etna DOC wine from vineyards located on the north side of Etna, in Contrada Sciaranuova, between Passopisciaro and Randazzo, at 850 mt s.l.m. Sunny but cold winters, sufficient but not abundant rains and a particular constant ventilation that, even in the rainy years, helps to keep the vineyard intact. Our farm strongly believes in the territory and wants to combine the production of quality wine with respect for nature and local traditions by implementing, where necessary, modern cultivation techniques. The wine of Etna Primaterra, is a product that wants to be an expression of the territory and that, after an adequate aging, gives sensations of wide complexity.
