About the winery
The Company Battiato Vini was born in 2014 from the love and passion of the brothers Battiato for wine that inherit from grandparents and great grandparents very small producers like the many neighbors, grown in an environment of deep rurality. The winery of Marco and Claudio Battiato is a tiny and very recent reality on the slopes of Etna. We are in Santa Venerina in the province of Catania. The Battiato brothers inherited and worked 1.5 hectares of land producing about 2,000 bottles a year, a true Sicilian rarity and Italian biodiversity. The volcanic characteristics of these soils reflect all their strength and elegance in the wines. Famous in fact this strip of wine land being the host land of the vineyards among the highest in Italy that reach in some areas even 1000 meters. s.l.m. The Battiato Farm is fully identified in the essence of Etna DOC. Etna Rosso DOC, in particular, is produced mainly from Nerello Mascalese grape variety that reigns in the hectare and a half inherited from Marco and Claudio, faithful guardians of a centuries-old tradition.
